He was crowned the first Singapore Idol at the Grand Finals held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium yesterday (Dec 1, 2004).</p><p>Both Taufik and Sylvester sang three songs with Taufik taking the mike first, an order decided when a coin was tossed in the earlier Results Show. One song was a song of their own choice, another was picked by the judges and the last was a special composition "I Dream" by Michael Fallon the eventual winner will get to record. </p><p>Taufik and Sylvester both turned in a phenomenal performances but eventually Taufik,with the higher number votes to win the much-coveted title of Singapore Idol.
